Joseph Crossley’s Almshouses holds and uses personal data relating to applicants sufficient to assess that they meet the criteria for admission as a resident. Where an application is unsuccessful, this personal data will be deleted within six months of the application being declined.

The Trust holds and uses personal data relating to all residents sufficient to enable the Trust to discharge its obligations to residents, including personal data relating to relatives and next of kin. This data may be obtained through the application form or through day to day interactions with residents and their families. It may be shared with the officers and employees of the Trust and with the Trustees in order to enable them to carry out their responsibilities in relation to residents but will not be disclosed to third parties unless a resident’s vital interests might be affected.

The Trust holds sensitive data relating to a resident’s religious beliefs as part of the conditions for admission as a resident. The Trust will seek specific consent for any other sensitive data such as data about health to be held and used by Trustees and employees. Such specific consent may be withdrawn at any time by the resident.

The Trust holds and uses personal data relating to Trustees, employees, volunteers and contractors sufficient to enable it to carry out its lawful responsibilities. Such personal data will be deleted within six months of there being no further use for it.
